The Location


Located in the village of Amiras near the south east coast of Crete in an area of outstanding natural beauty. The village has a school, supermarket, 4 kafenions, 5 churches, 2 butchers, bakery, hairdressers, doctors, Community Centre with table football, pool, darts, etc. daily postal service.

The village is on the south national road and is currently being connected to Heraklion by a new motorway that is 2/3 completed. It is approximately 62 km to Heraklion and currently takes 45 minutes to reach the city. It is also on a bus route that also goes to the local beach resort of Arvi (13km). Fast internet connectivity is available from this village.

The Property

This property was built well over 100 years ago and has been abandoned for the last 25+ years. It is a basic shell consisting of four square rooms in a 'L' shape, one room with concrete roof, the others without roofs. Stone walls are half a meter thick and as it is within the village boundary, extensive enlargement should be allowed (subject to local planning approval). It is not overlooked.

House is currently situated on shallow steps but the local council has a one way street planned, half completed i.e. it finishes just before the house next door at the moment. Nevertheless it is close enough not to be a problem for building materials.

Electricity pole is 10 meters from the property so connectivity should not present too much of a problem. Water, both agricultural and drinking are running past the property, as is phone line, mains drains and sewer. Street parking until road is completed.

The land is very fertile and is currently used by local sheep and goats with a bean crop rotation.
