Mobile phone costs abroad start to fall
The cost of using a mobile phone abroad is falling
significantly thanks to the range of services now available
to holidaymakers. The major networks, Vodafone,T-Mobile and O2, have been criticised for charging customers up to £1.50
per minute to make calls while abroad. They also charge high
fees to receive calls outside of the UK. However companies
such as 0044.co.uk are making it possible for travellers to
make local calls at local rates, make cheaper international
calls and receive calls for free. They sell you a SIM card
which contain the phone number and other data which
temporary replaces your own existing SIM while abroad. The
new card has a different telephone number so when users
replace their own card they are advised to leave a message
on their old number telling callers that they can be reach
on the new number.
