This family run restaurant, is a must for visitors to Rethymno. The
location is idyllic, nestling under the famous Venetian fortress
and offering wonderful views across the rooftops and minarets of
Rethymno town and the mountains beyond.
Your hosts Valadis and his
English born wife Marianne will be pleased to offer you their very
best attention and confirm all one hears about Cretan
hospitality.
This family business has been running for many years and has a
well- established reputation with the local community. The

loving care by the father of Valladis who refuses to allow any one
else to take over this important task.

premises so be prepared for a leisurely meal, no rush, no stress,
and take the whole evening to enjoy your meal.
On offer are a range of vegetarian dishes thanks to the wonderful
selection of vegetables grown on the island, traditional Cretan
dishes, and for those who would prefer it English dishes are also
available.
The dining area is of course outside to
take advantage of the views and the wonderful weather. In the
winter the restaurant is moved inside and opens Wednesday to
Saturday for evening meals. The restaurant has a wonderful feature
fireplace lit during the winter months

Directions
From the harbour and port area, walk along the coastal road to the
fortress. Immediately before the fortress is a fairly steep but
drivable slope on the left-hand side. You can normally find parking
here but if not drive the car to the top of the slope where you
should also find parking spaces. Continue from the top of the slope
until the view of Rethymno is before you. Castelvecchio is on your
left on the corner. |
