Trials and tribulations of property
development in Crete
We follow Charles, a gentleman from the UK making a success in
Crete  buying and
restoring old properties. It's not easy, officialdom can be very
frustrating and bureaucratic, labour somewhat unreliable and the
best made plans just simply go wrong. Despite all of this Charles
keeps plugging away and has turned possible failure into resounding
success.
His latest project is to renovate an old olive press which
is in a very sorry state of repair, into a superb residence. Follow
his story as he takes on this task; Charles updated us on the 29th April 2007.
"The extraordinary delays that occurred with the planning department have all but been
resolved and now have it on good authority that a protocol number is about to be
