Greek Holiday Accommodation - Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ's)
-
Why
aren't you ABTA (Association of British Travel Agents), FTO
(Federation of Tour Operators) or ATOL (Air Travel Organisers'
Licensing) registered?
These organizations were setup to protect the public from losing
money or being stranded abroad because of the failure of air travel
firms and travel companies who arrange the complete holiday
packages. When you book your flight make sure that the agency you
book through is covered by a professional association. As we do not
arrange flights or packages we do not hold any client money there is
not point us becoming registered. Please note that if you go on a
package holiday through a general travel agent then you should be
covered for all eventualities, although you should always check the
small print. Because of the way the UK systems work then if you
create your own holiday package then you are generally not covered,
despite the airline or travel agency being registered. Again, please
check the small print.
- What if we have to cancel our holiday after paying
the deposit?
As we do not except any payment then any contracts are not with
us. Please contact the villa or accommodation owner immediately
explain your situation and ask if they can refund your deposit.
They may be able to help.
- Can you book our air flights to Crete?
Sorry we don't arrange flight booking, instead we leave it up to
you to arrange your own as we feel that you can get a very
competitive rate by doing a little shopping around. Please see
our travel section for further
guidance.
- Where can we hire a car?
Sorry but we
do not arrange car hire. Car hire agencies are extremely
competitive in Greece and would should be able to get a good
deal by shopping around.
- I do like a good cup of tea in the morning to start
my day off well. Is this easily obtainable in Crete?
Unfortunately the blend of tea that one enjoys in England is not
readily available in Crete and is very difficult to find. If you
do like your cup of tea in the morning then it is better to take
some with you. Coffee however is very similar to the UK and
familiar brands can be found in most shops
