cc8054 - FINE BUILDING PLOT OF 1,799M2 FOR SALE WITHIN VILLAGE BOUNDARY IN MATALA AREA OF SOUTHERN CRETE

Price €125,000

Description
cc8054_0410mThis gently sloping building plot has a road to the village bordering one side of the plot so access is very good regarding being able to build. The village offers a post office, several tavernas and kafineon plus a mini market all just a short walk away with many more within a short drive.

The area in general is extremely attractive with the popular seaside resorts of Matala and Kalamaki just a few minutes drive away. Main shopping would be about 6 miles distant in the large town of Timbaki. Heraklion airport is only one hours drive away. The local coastline offers an area of outstanding beauty and historical interest with many interesting walks.

The plot has easy access to water and electricity. Being within the village limits would enable one to build up to 400m2 of accommodation. Archaeology permits have been obtained for a villa and swimming pool. Planning permission would of course still need to be applied for but this is standard practise in a country such as Greece. Level plots of this size within a village boundary with building allowance are becoming more scarce. Due to the popularity of the area, this would be an opportunity to purchase a large plot to enable one to build a villa, and have privacy due to the large garden surrounding the villa. cc8054_4027s The near by seaside resort of Matala with it's lovely quiet sandy beach and beachside restaurants. For the historians and next to the beach, there are caves in the rocks. These caves are actually artificial, carved in Neolithic times and there is evidence that they once help tombs dating back to Minoan, Roman and early Christian eras.
