4.5 stremma of beach front land for sale on the island of Rhodes - €250,000
The Location
Located between the sea and the airport this heavily sort after area was
quickly bought up by doctors, architects and lawyers when Rhodes City
started providing household electricity to the plots of land. The views are
spectacular over the sea to Turkey and Simi.
The land is flat and fertile and contains two fresh water wells. It is also
on the migration rout of many rare birds together with Monarch butterfly and
Scarce Swallowtail. The land, previously used for agriculture (sunflowers)
has been abandoned for several years and now supports an abundance of wild
flora including orchids, highly perfumed sand daffodils, cactus and bamboo
among many other wild flowers.
Planning permission for a residence or small commercial property is
available. There is some aeroplane noise from the small airport in the
summer but there are no 'flyovers' and no car traffic. The village of Paridissi is 10
minutes away with large supermarkets, bars, tavernas and all the usual
amenities.
The land runs on to the beach which is sand and pebbles with a gentle slope.
It is an area favoured by the local fisherman as it is well stocked with
fish all the year round. For those who like diving there is an old German
war plane in the sea 50 meters out and 30 meters down approx.
It is a 20 minute drive to the old walled City of Rhodes.
