 For those who want a holiday in
''real Crete'' then Heracles Pension is the perfect solution.
Conveniently situated in a quiet position but just off the main
road with wonderful views, this accommodation is highly
recommended.
Heracles the owner, a geologist by profession is on site always,
and is able to offer the following to make your holiday more
memorable and convenient. He is in love with the local environment
and has taken great trouble to ensure that his local knowledge is
available to all guests.
He offers mountain bike hire from the premises and can advise you
on the best routes to suit your interests and capabilities.
Although he does not pretend to be a botanist, if your interest is
in flowers, plants, and shrubs he will advise you where the best
places to find them are. Also with bird lovers, Heracles local
knowledge is legendary, and he can advise again of the best vantage
areas to see the Cretan bird life and can point to toward eagles
which are regularly seen just 2km away. He also knows the locations
of some of very private and unspoiled beaches.
 Breakfasts are extra and consists
of eggs from his own chickens, home made marmalade, fresh orange
juice from home grown oranges and are served in the delightful
little dining room, or of course on the patio outside. This is
entirely optional and Heracles stresses that no one is obliged to
have breakfasts. During the day and evening the attractive patio is
a meeting point where conversation is the main entertainment. Once
again Heracles can offer information on Cretan architecture,
history, to add interest to the discussions. Enjoy a cooling drink
whilst delicious home made delicacies are served, mostly local
products, indigenous to this part of the island. Sweets made from
local fruits, nut dishes, olives and raki. This is considered to be
part of the Heracles pension hospitality, and is not charged for.
Enjoy the evenings when local folk also come for the atmosphere and
hospitality.
Many guide books and information books about Crete and the local
area are available for the careful use of customers. Exchange rate
facilities are also available at Heracles.
Accommodation consists of Twin and three bedded rooms with private
balcony and en-suite shower and w c. Ceramic tiled floors
throughout. The rooms are comfortably furnished with bedside units,
dressing table and mirror, air conditioning, centre heating, fridge and
television and large built in wardrobes. Doors leading on to private furnished balcony with its
stupendous views over the mountains and surrounding countryside. Heracles would be
happy to arrange for cloths washing, cost between €2 or
€3 per load depended upon size.

This is a
family run pension and the service is friendly and exceptional.
Rooms are cleaned daily, and fresh linen is provided every three
days. Heracles prides himself on advising and tailoring walks and
cycle rides to your particular needs. The visitors book speaks for
itself.
